Frequently Asked Questions About Food & Drink Fest 
What is the Food and Drink Fest?
Food and Drink Fest is an annual celebration of everything to do with the best local independent restaurants, exciting food trends, talented chefs, craft breweries, wineries, spirits and live local entertainment. You will run into old friends and make new ones! It’s a fun filled weekend long event where you can sip, sample and experience the best the region has to offer.

How many exhibitors are participating?
On average there are over 100 different exhibitors showcased at Food and Drink Fest 2017. Check out the List of Exhibitors page for more information.

What are the show dates, hours and location?
Friday April 7th - 4 pm to 10 pm (19+ only)
Saturday April 8th - 12 pm to 10 pm (19+ only)
Sunday April 9th - 12 pm to 5 pm (Family Friendly Kids - 12 and under FREE)

Is the show accessible by public transportation?

Is the FirstOntario Centre fully accessible?
Yes. Guests can access FirstOntario Centre through the doors located on Bay Street. The FirstOntario Centre is equipped with elevators that lead directly to the show floor. If you require a wheelchair escort or further assistance, please speak to a member of Building Management or Event Staff upon your arrival. All service animals are welcome with proper documentation. 

How do I buy admission passes?
Admission passes are available for purchase online in advance. Admission passes are also available at the door on a first come first serve basis.

When buying tickets online do I need to provide the email addresses for everyone or can I use my email address for all tickets?
You can use your email address for all tickets. If you know the other peoples email address you are buying tickets for, it's a good idea and convenient for you to put it in so they get the confirmation emailed directly to them. 

I bought Groupon or Wagjag Tickets, are they valid on any day?
No. Wagjag and Groupon discount tickets are not valid Saturday night from 5pm-10pm.

I have tickets for Saturday afternoon. Will I be kicked out at 5PM sharpe?
No. If you arrived at say 4pm on Saturday you will not be asked to leave at 5pm. However, if you arrived after 5pm with Saturday afternoon tickets they will not be valid. We usually sell out the Saturday night timeslot and need to do this to control for attendance. 

What is included in the price of admission?
Entrance to the festival, a souvenir sample glass, full access to all show features including live cooking demonstrations, musical acts and on stage performances. As well, free goodie bags will be distributed to the first 1000 people each day.

When is the best time to arrive?
Ticket holders are strongly encouraged to arrive before 6pm Friday night, Saturday afternoon anytime, before 6pm Saturday night and any time on Sunday. Historically, we tend to reach capacity for a very short time between 6 pm - 8 pm on Friday and Saturday. Advance ticket holders will have priority over walk ups as capacity permits. We highly recommend arrival outside of these peak times. 

Is this a 19 years of age and older event?
Friday and Saturday are exclusively for adults over the age of 19 with valid photo ID
Sunday is the designated Family Day, children under the age of 19 are welcome to attend when accompanied by a parent or guardian. On Sunday kids 12 and under free.

How do I use a coupon code?
When purchasing tickets online there is a place to enter a coupon code if you have one. Alternatively, you can show your coupon code on your phone or print one off or bring in your discount postcard and redeem it at the door to receive your discount when paying cash.

How much are sample tickets?
Sample tickets are $1 each and sold predominantly in packs of 10 and 20. 
Most food and beverage samples cost between 1 and 6 sample tickets

Are children or infants allowed entry?
Our licence only allows children under the age of 19 access to the Festival on Sunday, April 9th.
This includes infants. On Friday and Saturday our licence does not allow children or infants entrance at the show. 

Is there a group discount rate on admission passes?
For confirmed groups of 10 or more attendees, please contact our offices at 905-524-3689

I cannot attend the event any more. Can I receive reimbursement?
No. Tickets are non refundable. But you can transfer them over to your best friend even if you name is on the tickets.

Are credit and debit cards accepted on site?
This is a cash only event. ATM Machines are located within the event centre. But, it's always a good idea to stop at your bank before you head to the show.

Is there a coat check?
Yes, there will be a coat check located just inside the show entrance. The coat check will be hosted by Food4Kids and all proceeds from the coat check will go to charity. So please be generous if you can. 

Are there in and out privileges?
No. Once you are in you are not allowed to leave and re-enter. Smokers will be stamped and placed in a monitored designated area 
 
Is there a smoking area?
Yes there will be a designated smoking area. 

Is parking available near the venue?
Ample parking is available in and around the FirstOntario Centre and the downtown Hamilton area. Additionally, FirstOntario Centre Is accessible by all public transportation.

Will everyone receive a goodie bag upon entrance? 
There 1000 bags handed out per day. They are are given out out on a first come first serve basis.. 
Additionally, some exhibitors offer bags at their booths with promotional materials.
